1. Explore Mount Pilatus

Overlooking Lucerne city in Central Switzerland, this mountain comprises numerous peaks, the highest of which is called Tomlishorn.

If you happen to come here during summer, you will be able to be part of the Golden Round Trip. This route is very popular among tourists and involves getting on to a boat from Lucerne to Alpnachstad.

Legend says that Mount Pilatus got its name from the fact that Pontius Pilate, the Roman province’s fifth governor, was buried in this mountain. There is also the theory that the name is derived from the word pileatus, which translates to cloud-topped.
